During 2013 we started work on a huge contract for The Theatre Royal, Drury lane, London (see the images in the gallery) On this contract there were 3 different discipline’s employed:
Gold transfer leaf gilding.
Hand painted Marbling effects.
Variegated metal leaf gilding.
The contract covered the main saloon, bar, lobby and the 2 main entrance halls as well as the main entrance. With over 1500 books of transfer leaf used, this was a huge undertaking, spread over 3 months.
Gold was applied to the ceiling vaults, decorative cornicing, ceiling roses, columns and the bar are in the saloon.
